Day by day itinerary
Day 1
|
Amboseli - Sentrim Tented Camp
|
Depart Nairobi and travel to Amboseli (4.5 hours), a fantastic park that borders Tanzania, there are great views of the imposing Mount Kilimanjaro and with abundant wildlife including herds of elephants, big cats and bird life - it’s a park not to be missed! You’ll arrive in time for lunch at Sentrim tented camp, located just outside the park, it’s a great value camp, each tent has a comfy bed and en suite shower and toilet and meals are buffet style. There is also a secluded viewpoint area at the back of the camp with great views of Kilimanjaro – worth a sunrise visit! After lunch you'll head out into Amboseli National Park for a game drive, after which you’ll return to camp for dinner and an evening relaxing.

Day 2 & 3
|
Tsavo West - Serena Kilaguni
|
Wake up early to see the sunrise over the imposing Kilimanjaro, then after breakfast you’ll continue your safari onto Tsavo West, which is about a 2-hour drive. The drive to Tsavo is mostly through wilderness and you will pass by some interesting lava flows on the way. You’ll be staying at the stunning Serena Kilaguni situated inside the park; which is a game-viewing lodge over-looking its own watering hole that can have daily visits from elephants and many other plains mammals. You’ll arrive in time for lunch, and then you’ll be taken on a late afternoon game drive and a visit to the Mzima Springs where you may see hippos and Nile crocodiles and many different bird species. You’ll return to Kilaguni for dinner and spend your evening relaxing and watching the wildlife arrive at the watering hole overlooked by the lodge’s restaurant. You can spend the next day taking game drives at your leisure, enjoying the lodges’ facilities or spend the whole day exploring the park with a picnic lunch.

Day 4 & 5
|
Tsavo West to Nairobi - Wildebeest Eco Camp
|
After breakfast head out on a game drive through Tsavo West where its possible to see any of the Big Five and maybe take a stop at the Roaring Rocks viewpoint for a stunning view of the wonderful Tsavo landscape. Leave the park early afternoon with a picnic lunch and head back to Nairobi for dinner at the Wildebeest Eco Camp. The camp is located just on the outskirts of Nairobi in Karen and has a mix of dorm style, luxury en-suite tents and also some new en-suite cottages. There is a small pool, restaurant and games room and it’s all set in a very attractive site with lots of trees and bird-life. Spend the next day sightseeing in Nairobi visiting the David Sheldrick elephant sanctuary in the morning and heading to either the Karen Blixen Museum or the Giraffe Centre in the afternoon, alternatively you could head over to the Nairobi National Park and take a nature walk then return to camp for dinner.

Day 6
|
Lake Naivasha - Sopa Lodge
|
After a leisurely breakfast, leave camp and head to the eastern Rift Valley escarpment and down onto the Rift Valley floor on your way to Lake Naivasha and the Sopa Resort (1.5 hours), where you’ll arrive in time for lunch. Sopa Resort is positioned right by the lake and has beautiful grounds with huge cacti and many acacia trees. You are likely to see colobus monkeys, bushbuck, zebra and giraffe wandering the grounds and in the evening you may also see hippos grazing on the lawns. The rooms themselves are spacious, Swahili style chalets either with a balcony or a glass fronted lounge area for relaxing and wildlife viewing. After lunch you’ll take a boat safari across the lake where you may see hippos and many species of birds including fish eagle, pelicans and sometimes flamingos. Retire to the lodge for the evening where you can take a swim, have dinner and watch the hippos come up from the lake to graze in Sopa’s grounds.

Day 7 to 9
|
Masai Mara - Mara Leisure Camp
|
After an early breakfast your driver will take you to the open grassland of the Masai Mara (4 hours). Rich in biodiversity and home to a large variety of bird species and wildlife, the Masai Mara offers great game viewing and bird-watching opportunities. You’ll arrive in time for lunch at the Mara leisure Camp, which is situated on the northern border of the game reserve. The camp is a mid range camp and has good facilities; lounge, restaurant, bar, swimming pool and buffet style restaurant. After lunch you’ll head out for a game drive and then spend the nest days taking game drives at your leisure, exploring the Mara reserve and tracking down the Big Five. You are not restricted in terms of the time or length of your game drives with us and you can spend the whole day out exploring the reserve if you wish. You can of course also spend some time relaxing in camp and enjoying the camp’s facilities!

Day 10
|
After breakfast and an early morning game drive you will drive back to Nairobi (5.5 hours) to connect with your international flight.
