Overview

This mini 4-day safari visits Lake Naivasha in the Rift Valley, where you’ll experience a boat safari and also a bush walk where you can see hippos and many species of bird. You’ll then head to the classic savannahs of the Maasai Mara where you will venture out on game drives to explore the savannah plains to track down the Big Five!

​Day-by-day itinerary in brief

Day ​1 - Lake Naivasha - Sopa Resort​
Visit Lake Naivasha where you can see hippos and many species of birds including fish eagles and pelicans, activities here include a boat safari and a bush walk. Accommodation is at Sopa Resort, located close to the lake shore where you can find wildlife wandering around such as bushbuck, zebra and giraffe. 

​Day 2 & 3 - Maasai Mara - Basecamp Mara
Depart Naivasha for the open grassland of the Maasai Mara, home to a large variety of wildlife including the Big Five (buffalo, elephant, leopard, lion, and rhino), where you’ll explore the savannahs on guided game drives. You'll stay at Basecamp, a small-tented camp with just 12 tents located on the banks of the Talek river. ​

Day 4 - Maasai Mara to Nairobi
After breakfast depart Basecamp for Nairobi, stopping for lunch on the way, you’ll be dropped at your preferred location.​
