Overview

A truly adventurous 7-day safari that takes you to the Savannah plains of the Maasai Mara to track down the Big Five and then onto the scenic Naboisho conservancy, a beautiful section of the Maasai Mara greater reserve, where visitor numbers are restricted and there is a high density of wildlife, with many lion prides and several coalitions of cheetah. All accommodation is provided by Basecamp Explorer and includes one night at their wilderness camp for a true safari camping experience!

​Day-by-day itinerary in brief

Day 1 to 3 - Maasai Mara, Basecamp Explorer
Spend three days exploring the Maasai Mara on game drives, a reserve rich in biodiversity and home to a large variety of bird species and wildlife, this savannah reserve offers great game viewing and bird watching opportunities and is regarded as the jewel of Kenya's parks and reserves. Accommodation is at Basecamp’s Mara camp a small-tented camp located on the banks of the Talek river. 
 
Day 4 - Maasai Mara, Naboisho Conservancy, Basecamp Wilderness Camp
Head to the Naboisho conservancy, arguably one of the most scenic areas in the whole of the Maasai Mara. You'll be staying for a night at Basecamp’s Wilderness camp, an authentic-style safari bush camp and as the name suggests it’s located in the wilderness! The next morning you will wake early and head out to explore the conservancy on a guided safari walk with your local Maasai guides.

Day 5 & 6 - Maasai Mara, Naboisho Conservancy, Basecamp Eagle View
Spend two days at Basecamp’s Eagle View, a fantastic luxury camp located in Naboisho, on a stunning ridge-top location overlooking a natural waterhole which is frequented by many plains mammals, including elephants, hippos and giraffes. The conservancy is a ground-breaking project of conservation, visitor numbers are restricted in the conservancy to reduce the environmental impact and there is a high concentration of wildlife with one of the highest densities of lions in all of Africa! Spend your time on game drives and guided safari walks through the beautiful conservancy.

Day 7 – Maasai Mara to Nairobi
After a morning game drive you’ll return to camp for breakfast, then spend the rest of the morning relaxing in camp before heading back to Nairobi by road (5 hours).
