Day by day itinerary

Day ​1
Nairobi - Sarova Panafric
​Your first day in Kenya after your international flight will be a nice easy one, spent sight seeing in Nairobi visiting the David Sheldrick elephant orphanage in the morning, followed by lunch at the Karen Blixen Coffee Garden and then heading over to either the Karen Blixen Museum or the Giraffe Centre in the afternoon (or both), alternatively you could head over to the Nairobi National Park and take a safari walk. After your day out you’ll be taken to your hotel, the Sarova Panafric, a 4 star Nairobi hotel, where you’ll have dinner and spend the night.

Day 2 & 3
Amboseli - Serena Safari Lodge
Depart Nairobi early morning for Amboseli (5 hours), a fantastic park that borders Tanzania, with great views of the imposing Mount Kilimanjaro and abundant wildlife including herds of elephants, big cats and bird life, it’s a park not to be missed! You'll arrive in time for lunch at the Serena Safari Lodge situated in the heart of the park with amazing views of Kilimanjaro. The lodge is a medium sized mid-range luxury lodge with full hotel facilities including a pool to cool off, central dining area, a spa and evening entertainment. You can spend the next day exploring the park; either spend the whole day in the park with a picnic lunch or venture out for an early morning and late afternoon game drive and spend the rest of the time enjoying the lodge and its’ facilities, it’s up to you!

Day 4 & 5
Tsavo West - Serena Kilaguni
​Wake up early to see the sunrise over the imposing Kilimanjaro, then after breakfast continue your safari onto Tsavo West, which is about a two-hour drive. You’ll be staying at the stunning Serena Kilaguni Lodge situated inside the park where you’ll arrive in time for lunch at their restaurant, which has great views over the park. After lunch you'll be taken on a late afternoon game drive and a visit to the Mzima Springs where you may see hippos and Nile crocodiles and many different species of bird. You’ll then return to Kilaguni for dinner and spend your evening relaxing and watching the wildlife arrive at the watering hole overlooked by the lodge’s restaurant, lounge and bar. You can spend the next day taking game drives at your leisure, enjoying the lodges’ facilities or spend the whole day exploring the park with a picnic lunch.

Day 6 & 7
Taita Hills conservancy - Sarova Salt Lick
​After breakfast you will depart Kilaguni and head for the Taita Hills Wildlife Sanctuary, an area full of wildlife. There are more than fifty species of large mammals and three hundred species of birds here, it’s not uncommon to spot two dozen species in a morning game drive, among them lions, cheetahs, large herds of elephant and buffalo! You’ll arrive in time for lunch at the Sarova Salt Lick game viewing lodge, where there is a water source which attracts a lot of wildlife, which can be viewed from the comfort of the lodge or from their very good ground-level hide. Later on you’ll be taken out by your driver for a game drive in this very scenic park before heading back to the lodge for dinner. Spend your second day here enjoying watching wildlife from the lodge and taking early morning and late afternoon game drives.

Day 8 & 9
Tsavo East - Galdessa Camp
​After breakfast you will leave Sarova Salt Lick and head out on a game drive through the sanctuary before entering Tsavo East; a plateau of open grassland with giant baobab trees where you'll get a great feeling of being out in the wilderness. You'll arrive in time for lunch at Galdessa Camp situated on the Galana River, before taking an afternoon game drive and a visit to the Lugards Falls and Mudanda Rock. Galdessa is a luxury camp that lies in the heart of Tsavo East and is the perfect camp to end your safari; it has 12 beautiful semi thatched tented bandas on wooden platforms, each with an en suite bathroom and private veranda river view. The bathrooms are large and have traditional bucket showers, flush toilets and basins with running water. Next morning you will head out on a guided bush walk before breakfast then spend the day taking game drives exploring the wilderness of Tsavo.

Day 10
After breakfast you will head out for a final game drive along the Galana River in the Tsavo wilderness before heading back to Nairobi with a picnic lunch where you’ll be dropped at your preferred location.
